Elaine Park’s story is a tragic one that has captured the attention of many. It is mysterious with soooo many twists and turns, you can’t believe it’s actually is a real story. Elaine has now been missing for 6 years. This case is particularly mysterious because Elaine appears to be an individual who is very unlikely to run away; however, the police have zero evidence of any foul play. Despite the suspicion of foul play, the case has remained a missing persons.
On the evening of January 27, 2017, the 20-year-old had been hanging out with her boyfriend, Divine “Div” Compere. They went to see a movie together, and at about 1 a.m., they returned to his home in a swanky gated community in Calabasas, to the north of Malibu.
Despite extensive searches around his home, at her home, where she lived with her mother and media coverage, Elaine’s disappearance remains unsolved. The circumstances surrounding her case continue to raise questions and concern.
Compere later told the cops that Elaine woke up early and appeared to be having a panic attack; he said she was shaking and singing. He said she got dressed and left.
Video surveillance footage showed Elaine walking outside the house at 6 a.m. She appeared calm on the footage. Unfortunately, the tape stopped five minutes later.
A neighbor’s surveillance camera caught the vehicle moving away, and her car’s registration plate was detected by an automatic reader as it left the gated community a short time later.
The morning of her disappearance.
In the morning, Elaine’s mom, Susan Park, attempted to contact her daughter several times on her cellphone, but each time the phone either rang out or went straight to voicemail. Susan became extremely concerned as it was highly unusual for Elaine not to call or text.
Div told police that at around 4 am, Elaine woke up experiencing a panic attack; she was shaking and singing and acting oddly. He told police he tried to calm her down and convince her to stay, but she got dressed and left about two hours later at 6:05 am.
She was seen on the security footage walking to her car early in the morning at 6.30am, seemingly unperturbed, and leaving the property. After she drove away, the driveway camera stopped recording.
Rather ominously, there have also been no further posts on Elaine’s social media, which is very strange for such a prolific poster and suggests that Elaine has sadly meet with or been a victim of foul play.
The search for the missing Elaine Park began at the ocean
The police initiated a search when the student failed to turn up at her mom’s home. The investigators attempted to track her cellphone and determined she was in the Malibu area.
The case fell under the jurisdiction of the Glendale Police Department because Glendale was where her license was registered. The investigators immediately suspected suicide.
The search was initially concentrated along the coastline and was hampered by bad weather. The police later faced criticism for focusing their search in the area where the car was found rather than where she was last seen alive.
The cops were also condemned for immediately releasing Elaine’s belongings to her family instead of sending the items to a crime lab.
Search expands days later
Under some pressure from Elaine’s family, the cops expanded their search inland. They used sniffer dogs, drones, and divers to scour the Santa Monica Mountains and the Angeles National Forest. But sadly, there was no sign of Elaine.
Susan has admitted that her daughter experimented with drugs in the past, and it’s unknown if drugs were a factor in the disappearance.
“We are absolutely puzzled,” Glendale Police Sgt. Robert William told reporters in the summer of 2017.
The police investigation
Susan has become frustrated with the Glendale Police Department and the lack of progress. In September 2012, she approached the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors to request the case be transferred to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office.
She pleaded with the board, “Specifically, I do not feel Glendale Police Department has been doing nearly enough to investigate the case and following up thoroughly on leads. I’m appealing and pleading for your help.”
However, the request could not be legally granted, and the Glendale PD remains in control, but it is assisted by the LA County Sheriff’s Office. On hearing about Elaine’s mom’s request Sgt. William claimed that Susan wished for a criminal investigation, but he said, “We can’t start a criminal investigation until there’s evidence a crime was involved.”
According to The Crime Wire…… Elaine Park went missing on January 28, 2017, at the age of 20. At the time of her disappearance, she was 5’5″ tall, weighed 125 pounds, and had brown hair, brown eyes, and waist-length hair with blond tips. She is of Asian/Korean descent.
She has a pierced nose and ears and several distinctive tattoos, including:
- A dagger and flowers on her right arm
- A rose on her left shoulder
- A cow skull and a moth on her left arm
She was last seen wearing a white sweatshirt and denim shorts but may be wearing gray sweatpants. Elaine suffers from depression and is classified as a “critical missing person.”
Elaine’s background
Elaine was born on September 24, 1996, and was known for her spunky, artistic personality. Her parents were divorced and she lived with her mother Susan in La Crescenta, California, just north of Los Angeles. There she attended Crescenta Valley High School and reportedly had a large group of friends and peers.
Susan Park is the name of her mother. She was well-known to her fans. However, she vanished suddenly one day. She was a great actress who appeared in straightforward television shows and motion pictures and was a role model for many young people. She was 20 years old when she was missed. On January 28, 2017, she vanished. However, no information regarding her situation had yet been received. She was almost 5 feet, 5 inches tall. Her brown hair was straight and long.
Additionally, her eyes were brown. She was with her boyfriend the night she vanished. Despite numerous efforts, her family still does not know anything about her. Therefore, everyone believed that the Divine was to blame for her disappearance, but that was not even proven to be true. He put in a lot of effort and gave the police his full cooperation to find Elaine. However, the only information discovered regarding Elaine was the car in which she left Divine’s house. Divine’s house was almost 45 minutes away when the vehicle was found. Divine Compere’s father is Shakim Compere, a well-known businessman. He grew up in luxury because his father is a co-owner of Flavor Unit Entertainment. He is currently thought to be in the middle of his twenties. The public’s interest was piqued by his romantic relationship with Elaine Park, who is still missing.
Divine Compere was the last person to see her when Elaine Park left the house in the morning. The young child’s mother previously stated that she was depressed, but it was not clear if she also had other mental health issues. Shakim Compere’s son is Divine Compere, more commonly called Div. His father is a well-known and wealthy Los Angeles businessman who, along with Queen Latifah, co-owns Flavor Unit Entertainment. Elaine Park, on the other hand, is the name of Divine Compere’s girlfriend. There is much debate surrounding Elaine Park and Divine Compere’s relationship. Let’s go into greater detail about the relationship and Elaine, Div’s girlfriend.
However, Elaine had last seen Divine Compere at his home. The family was “extremely cooperative” with the investigation, including providing security footage of their driveway and the community’s entrance and exit,
So Divine was not considered a suspect by the police. Elaine’s mother was upset with the Glendale Police Department because they moved on from her ex-boyfriend so quickly and didn’t fully investigate the Compere property (including the vast area of hills beyond their home). Elaine had last seen her in their home.
The videos’ timing and time stamps are just one flaw in the Divines story. The Glendale Police Division says that the reconnaissance film doesn’t show Divine leaving the premises, albeit the clasp closes soon after Elaine drives away. Divine claims Elaine experienced a panic attack around 4 a.m., but video footage shows her leaving at 6:05 a.m., two hours later. Divine’s account of the two hours was not particularly precise. She said Elaine left his property after he tried to calm her down. She finally changed and left.

Elaine’s school
She attended Crescenta Valley High School and reportedly had a large group of friends and peers. After graduating high school, Elaine attended Pierce College in Los Angeles; Elaine was an aspiring actress with a love of poetry and art, was living with her mother in the small community of La Crescenta, just north of Los Angeles, while attending college. At the time of her disappearance, however, she had dropped out. She lost her restaurant job around this time as well.
Elaine’s career and work

Elaine was an aspiring actress and loved poetry, art, and musical theater. Before she went missing, Elaine had small roles in several TV shows and movies, including Crazy Stupid Love, Role Models, ER, Mad TV, and Desperate Housewives.
Elaine had an on-again, off-again boyfriend, Divine (Div) Compere, whom she was with the night she went missing. Div is the son of a successful Hollywood businessman, Shakim Compere. They lived in a gated community in Calabasas, California.
The Night Before She Disappeared
At around 10 pm on January 27, 2017, Elaine sent her mother a text message before leaving in an Uber with her boyfriend to go see a movie. The two returned to his home around 1 am and went inside so she could stay the night. Security footage from the driveway confirms this timeline. Private investigator Jayden Brant, who has worked on the case, said that he interviewed the Uber drivers, who said that the couple seemed to be happy, normal, and having a good time.
The podcast that brought national attention to Elaine’s case: To live and die in LA – season 2
Neil Strauss Teamed up with Incubus guitarist Michael Einziger, concert violinist Anne-Marie Simpson, and Strauss’ then-wife and author, Ingrid De La O as well as investigator Jayden Brant, “ began investigating this case for two reasons. The first was to save my marriage. That one didn’t work out. The second was to find Elaine Park and provide answers for her loved ones,” Strauss tells ET. “Whether or not that works out depends on the response to this podcast. Someone listening knows something, and I urge them to come forward anonymously, whether through our tip line or the Glendale Police Department.”
Timeline of her missing persons report
Elaine Park was last seen around 6 a.m. Jan. 28, 2017. The gated security cameras, which only recorded vehicles’ license plates, showed Elaine’s car departing the community at 7:14 am. Police later claimed that the cameras may not have been updated with the time change, which means it could have been 6:14 am, though this was never confirmed.
Even if it was 6:14, this still leaves about a 9-minute time gap that is unaccounted for. The drive from her boyfriend’s house to the gates at the entrance should have only taken a few minutes. Many people, including some investigators, believe this time gap is suspiciously long.
For a while, this video was the last known sighting of Elaine. More recently, footage from a gas station on the Pacific Coast Highway surfaced that purportedly shows Elaine’s car making a u-turn.
Days after she went missing
For the next two days, Elaine didn’t answer her mother’s or her boyfriend’s text messages or phone calls. Her mother tried to call the Glendale Police Department, as it was unusual and out of character for her daughter to not answer her. Since Elaine was an adult, the police assumed that she just didn’t want to talk to anybody and had run off somewhere. Her mother was told to call back the next day. An official missing person report wasn’t made until Monday, January 30.
On February 2, her 2015 gray Honda Civic was located on the South Pacific Highway near Malibu. The doors were unlocked, and the keys were in the ignition; her personal belongings such as cellphone and backpack, her laptop and cash were also found in the car. Her mom has said she couldn’t think of a reason for why her daughter would be in that area. Her family and friends wondered: How did her car end up in Malibu?
The car battery was dead and its lights were on. Inside the car, investigators found Park’s belongings: A computer, her backpack, and money was exposed and visible. “It almost looks as if it was placed,” Wheeler said. “There was no sign of a forced entry. There was no sign of a struggle; there was no blood.”
On January 31, four days after last seeing her daughter, Park’s mother, Susan, reported her daughter missing.

The search
Police scoured the area for clues and conducted a search using bloodhounds and cadaver dogs — but they found no trace of Park.
A few days later, police suspended the search and, eventually, the trail went cold. Park’s mother told police that Park had suffered from depression in the past, but had never given any indication that she might be suicidal.
Brant said that he has investigated many different scenarios in an attempt to find out what could have happened to Park. He said that they considered the possibility that she could have gone for a hike, but believes that if that had been the case, she would have taken her phone with her.
Her family set up reward funds, created a Facebook page, and an anonymous tip line. But leads remain elusive. Police suspect foul play, but have no suspects and have made no arrests. “This case is still active. We still work this case. We are still looking for leads,” Brant said.
Park is described as being between five foot five and five foot six inches tall and petite. She has several distinctive tattoos: a dagger on her right arm and, on her left arm, a cow skull and a moth. On her left shoulder, she has a red rose.
Police have asked anyone with information regarding Elaine Park’s disappearance to call the Glendale Police at (818) 548-4911 or the Elaine Park Tip Line at (800) 551-3080.

There is a reward of $500,00 for any information that leads to her whereabouts. She is of Korean-American descent, has a thin build, and is 5 foot 6 inches tall and 125 pounds. She had brown hair and brown eyes and a tattoo of a cow skull on her upper left arm.
